Exhibition: Thursday 4 October to Tuesday 16 October
Opening night: Friday 5 October, 6pm
This exhibition is a survey of oil paintings and mixed media works created over the past five years.
Her diverse works range from small to very large canvases and, while the work is often representational, it leans more towards expressionism.
Ann describes her artwork as non-traditional.
She is not a signature artist, following her intuition to lead her art making.
The aesthetic of some Ann's work has been described as rustic and focuses on the natural environment. Attempting to capture not only a particular scene in the landscape, but also the feeling of a place in time.
Inspiration for the work comes from exploring outdoors, observing land formations, weather-beaten geological shapes and native flora.
A number of Ann's works depict trees in macroscopic view and broader scenes in forests.
These were painted mainly for a love of trees and their multifaceted importance in the environment.
