“It's a cry for something more, something real,” Tremain said.
“It’s a longing to re-awaken the senses, to reconnect with your fellow human and shoot some colour into the grey.”
The band, which includes Will Tremain on drums/backing and Andy West on bass, lists Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix Experience, and QOTSA as influences, and will appeal to fans of The Raconteurs, The Arctic Monkeys, Royal Blood, and Soundgarden. They have embarked on multiple tours, with a reputation for high-energy live performances.
How to Bleed is a new sound for the trio, where the blues element usual for this band is harder to hear, with a heavy-bass groove following a classic-rock introduction. It’s a new and developed sound for the trio, with a modern approach and heavy-rock vibe throughout.
Recorded and produced by the band’s fill-in drummer, the single recently premiered on triple j, and the band have announced a seven-date tour announced, including Narooma. How To Bleed was described as a positive campaign message from one artist to another, which encouraged creatives to strive to do more with their life and not let a fear of failing stop creativity.
The Desert Sea play at the Quarterdeck on Sunday, November 11.
