Twenty eight ladies played in a stableford round on Wednesday and the winner of Division 1 was Brenda Whiffen with 35 points playing of a 23 handicap.
Runner up was Maggie Hayes (6) with 33 points. Balls went to Denise Flavell (24) 33 points, Anna Blacka (27) 32 points and Pat Jones (18) with 31 points.
Division 2 Winner was Liz Gilbert (31) 31 points, runner up Annette Irvine (38) also with 31 points. Balls went to Fiona Hanks (35) 28 points, Val Schilling (33) 27 points and Jenny Williams (43) 26 points.
Nearest the Pin on the 8th was Maggie Hayes and on the 11th was Denise Flavell
Saturday, February 23
Eleven ladies played on Saturday in a stableford event. The winner Brenda Whiffen (22) had 33 points, runner up Lynn Ponsford (17) came in with 32 points.
Balls went to Pat Jones (18) 31 points, Fiona Hanks (35) and Elsbeth Cripps (28) both on 29 points. Last ball to Jo Buttrey (22) with 28 points.
Monday, February 25
Thirteen ladies played in a 9 hole stableford event on the Beige course on Monday. The winner was Mary Mihailidis (19) with 21 points. Balls went to Norma Heddles (16) with 18 points, Nerida Holzhauser(9) 17 points, Janice Aldred (20) and Jo Buttrey (9) both had 15 points.
Bermagui Men
Thursday, February 21 - Stableford
The A grade winner was Tony Crome returning home with 43 points.
Runner up in A was Javana Fereti scoring 41points off 2 handicap. In third spot was Noel Haase on 40.
Ross Simpson had the B grade win with 43 points. A countback placed Nick Stolk as runner up ahead of Dennis Olmstead both on 39 points.
Arthur Worthley continued his recent good form with a win in C grade scoring 40. Runner up after a countback was Peter Hisco edging birthday boy Ron Field both on 39 points.
Saturday, February 23 – Bonus Bogey Par
Glenn Thomson had a plus 4 win in A grade with Javana Fereti as runner up on plus 1.
Gerald Wright put in a stellar performance to win B grade with a best of the day plus 10. Second place in B to Ross Simpson on plus 3. The C grade winner was Tony Stenhouse with plus 2. Then followed Mark Thomas on plus 1.
Club News
• Our Pennants Teams played the 4th round on Sunday, February 24 at Moruya Golf Course. Bermagui Division 1 team drew with the Mollymook team 2.5/ 2.5. Bermagui Division 2 team lost to Mollymook 3 and 2 and Bermagui Seniors had a 3.5/ 1.5 win over Narooma. The Pennant rounds continue next Sunday at Catalina Golf Course.
• The Far South Coast District Golf Association Championships will be played at Bermagui Golf Course on Sunday, March 10.
Narooma Men
Thursday, February 21
An excellent field of 150 players enjoyed fine golfing conditions with a resultant DSR of a consistent 71. In A Grade Mark Stamopoulos from Warringah registered 39 points off his handicap of 9 to edge out Peter Jolley from Cromer on countback. The countback favoured Steve Marsden to take third place with 38 points ahead of Terry O'Callaghan, Don Hannam from Royal Sydney and Phil Haynes.
A regular visitor from Kiama, Paul McInerney, took out B Grade with 44 points off his handicap of 20, clearly the best score of the day. Richard Bodell was runner-up with 41 points and Vince Harper third with 40 points.
In C Grade Tony Jeckeln from Warringah finished on top with 38 points off a handicap of 26 on a countback from Norm Watson. George Matheson nudged out his playing partner Terry Reid to take third place with 37 points, a feat that brought a smile to his face. The nearest-the-pin winners were Peter James on 3, Scott Ker on 9, David Bennett on 14 and Steve Marsden on 17, while the ball competition went down to all on 35 points.
Saturday, February 23: 136 players took to the course which played to a consistent DSR of 72. In A Grade John Rimmer from Thirteenth Beach required a countback to head Matt Corbett after registering 38 points off his handicap of 11. Murray Walpole filled third place with 37 points.
In B Grade former member Peter Boyle from Perigian Springs recorded the day's highest score with 42 points off his handicap of 16, two better than Graham Small on 40 and five better than Russell Naumann on 37 points respectively. C Grade was taken out by Wendy Lowe with 40 points off a handicap of 24, followed by Margaret Brown on 37 points and Ian Lowe who needed a favourable countback to edge out Terry Pickles and Lorraine Dean on 36 points. The nearest-the-pin winners were Jayne Hotchkis from Murrumbidgee on 3, Rod Streater on 9, Dan Eade from Belconnen Magpies on 14 and Brett Thompson on 17, while the ball competition went down to all on 33 points.
Narooma Ladies
On Monday, February 18 a field of 24 Ladies played a 4BBB Stableford Competition. The winners with 44 points were Di Williamson (27) and Robyn Hawkins (19) from Runners Up Sylvia Donohoe (3) and Kay Lawrence (13) with 40 points ocb.
The Ball Competition went to 40 points. Wednesday, February 20 was an Individual Stableford Competition with a field of 34 Ladies playing in 2 Divisions. The Winner of Division 1 was Sylvia Donohoe with 36 points and Runner Up with 33 points ocb was Jayne Hotchkis. The Winner of Division 2 was Trish James with 33 points ocb from Dierdre Landells. The NTP Winners were: Mary Young (Division 2) on 14th Hole and Trish Bennett (Division 3) on 17th Hole. Ball Competition went to 27 points ocb.
