Moruya ceremony for Christchurch victims

The Eurobodalla Refugee Action Collective says a service followed by a candle-lighting ceremony will be held for the victims of the Christchurch attack in Moruya on Sunday, March 17.

"Lighting candles for NZ - let's spread light and love, not hate" is the theme of the event.

"Eurobodalla people are invited to join in the service at St John's Church in Moruya at 10am tomorrow, 17 March, where the Rev Linda Chapman will say a prayer during the course of the usual service," a spokeswoman said.

"For those who wish to come after the regular service, they are invited to attend at 11:15 am to light a candle to remember the victims, and to stand in solidarity, love and peace.

"The event has been called for the Eurobodalla community to come together to show its solidarity and support for New Zealand, to pray and pay respects to the victims, survivors and heroes of the terrorist attacks in Christchurch.

"We must stand together and show the world that love will win.

"Those who cannot attend are invited to light a candle at home, in support."
