Lachlan Brown and Brenton Cole were among more than 500 competitors in the main race of the championships.
For the second time this season, the swim leg of the triathlon was cancelled, turning the meet into a duathlon consisting of a four-kilometre run, 30-kilometre bike leg, and finishing with another eight-kilometre run.
As was the case with Lake Burleigh Griffin in February, the Gosling Creek Reservoir has been closed to swimming due to another Blue Green Algae outbreak.
Another issue to contend with on race day were cross winds, which made the bike leg challenging for all competitors.
Brown finished with an outstanding result, as he came second in his age group (50-54). He finished the race in a time of 1:45:52, with splits of 16:40, 51:57 and 35:52.
Brown had the fastest bike leg in his age group by more than a minute, but was beaten by a faster runner who eventually finished some three minutes ahead of him.
Cole raced in the 30-34 age group, and finished in 2:19:54, with splits of 19:47, 1:12:46 and 44:36. This placed him 36th in his age group, and, combined with Brown's result, placed the Eurocoast Triathlon Club 12th out of 21 clubs in Division 3.
The club's division depends on the number of registered members.
Upcoming events include the Forster Triathlon Festival on March 30, and the Wollongong Triathlon Festival on April 13.
The Eurocoast Triathlon Club was founded in 2014, to provide local support to triathletes of all levels and experience.
