Sapphire Coast Turf Club is hosting Eden Cup Day, but as the final local meet of the 2018/19 racing season, some tight premierships are to be decided, with top riders, trainers and horses doing battle for their titles.
The horse racing season counts August 1's "horses' birthday" as its conclusion.
The Trainers premiership is really down to the wire with Theresa Bateup and Luke Pepper currently tied on eight wins apiece and Natalie Jarvis snapping at their heels on seven wins.
While fields will not be confirmed until Thursday, turf club manager Rob Tweedie said he was confident all three would have runners at Kalaru on Sunday, making the close battle a real race for the line.
Meanwhile, the Riders premiership looks all but sewn up, with Kayla Nisbet sitting on 12 wins, five above her nearest rivals.
"However, anything is possible on the day though and we have seen five winners ridden here before on a day," Tweedie said.
Sapphire Coast Horse of the Year is currently tied with both Monegal and El Nieto on three wins at the Kalaru track apiece and Jarrett sitting on two wins
Both Jarrett and Monegal are among the nominations and Tweedie said once a decision is made on Thursday, another exciting tussle could be on the cards.
"They're both running at Kembla Grange tomorrow so it depends on how the trainers and owners see the fields and take a look at the track condition."
The Apprentice of the Year is also down to the wire with Patrick Scorse on seven wins and Courtney Gravener six.
"I know for sure Patrick is riding here on Sunday, I'm not 100 per cent on Courtney - but we'll know more tomorrow [Thursday] morning.
Gates on Sunday open at 12.15pm for the Eden Fishermen's Club Eden Cup Race Day.
The day includes a seven-race TAB meet with free jumping castle, bars, kiosk and on course bookies.
There are also free buses to and from the track leaving from the Eden Fishermen's Club and Church St Bega, with stops at Pambula, Merimbula, Tura Beach and Tathra.
