Moruya River: The fishing remains the same as last week. Increasing water temps are continuing to activate the systems and its piscatorial residents. Plastics and hard body lures around the flats and weed bed edges continue to tempt both bream and flat head alike. Baits as always continue to be a reliable option. The slime still hangs around, but with the rising water temp, this will start to dissipate shortly.

Tuross River: The place to be at the moment! Lots of activity down the front of the system. Good catches of flathead, bream and whiting continue to fill the reports for the system. The entrance to the system, unless we get substantial rain, is getting close to closing up. Reports that you can walk across the mouth at the moment, prove that the area is in desperate need of good rain fall. Plastics are accounting for good numbers of flathead, try looking at 3"-4" baitfish profiles for best affect. The bait brigade, as always continue to catch fish. Live nippers being the standout option.
Rock and Beach: There are still good numbers of salmon being caught around the area. Look for good gutters to fish. The Wind Sock at Moruya has a beautiful gutter at present, as do the southern beaches around Tuross. Pilchard baits on Paternoster rigs with gang hooks always work. Just be aware, there are good numbers of sand crabs in the gutters also. Expect to lose a few baits to them. A well placed artificial will also account for fish. Arma metals lures in the 40gm size seem to be the preferred option at present.
Offshore: Good mixed bags should still be expected over broken ground and reef areas. Micro Jigging is a technique that has come to the fore. Jigs ranging in size from 10-60gms fished on softer jig rods can produce good sized snapper, mowies and flathead.
The Eurobodalla Fishing Association has had a delivery of angel rings. Missing rings have been replaced. A few low lifes continue to think that throwing angel rings into the river to float away is a fun thing to do. The angel ring from the Quarry Wharf on the Moruya River was found vandalised and drifting well up stream by a local angler. It was returned to its rightful place. If you see anyone doing something stupid, report it to the police immediately.

The following report is brought to us by Adam, our guru in the Snowies!
Lake Jindabyne's at 66% capacity and sitting steady.
The best methods have been trolling the fringes and bait fishing throughout the daytime 'worms or yabbies!
Lake Eucumbene has risen nicely. Snowy Hydro have reported the level at 26% and steady, but all reports coming in from the local holiday parks are saying it's at 30% capacity and rising.
The water has now started covering some lovely green growth along the shorelines, this brings the fish in and makes for some hot sessions for all styles of angling.
Bait fishing has been producing plenty of pan-sized fish and some larger rainbows.
Tantangara Dam is steady at 27% capacity.
Before heading here make sure you check the Snowy Hydro website or a quick call to the Snowy Hydro information centre to confirm access as it can be cut off or limited due to the works being carried out for the 2.0 project.
The rivers are now open and it's time to start dodging snakes in search of some string pulling action. "Yes the snakes are out!"
The rivers around the high country are the only streams suitable to fish due to the warmer temps and dry conditions most other streams are struggling and are already warm and filling up with the summer slime 'even though spring hasn't even fully sprung here yet. This is very sad and concerning to see.
We fished three locations on the opening long weekend that always produce quality trout, yet we only seen 3 smaller browns and nothing but slimy or stagnant waters and we didn't hook into one fish.
Please respect the rivers as the fish are already highly stressed.
Rivers that are flowing well and worth targeting include the Thredbo river, Eucumbene river, Murrumbidgee river, Snowy river.
Just a reminder that a lot of these streams are classed as Blue Ribbons streams meaning artificial lures and fly's are only permitted. "No bait fishing "
Tight lines my friends and fish for the future! Remember "every day's a good day for fishing ... "
