The Police and Community Youth Club (PCYC) Far South Coast Charity Golf Day will be held at the Narooma Golf Course on Friday, December 6.
The PCYC have been working towards increasing the delivery of services in the Eurobodalla and Bega Valley Shires.
Club manager Peter Cross looked forward to the event and hoped the community gets involved. He said the day will support police-run programs for disengaged children as young as seven.
... to empower young people to be positive contributors within their communities.
"The programs are based on the needs of kids through research and statistics - to keep them off the streets," Mr Cross said.
Programs include Fittogether, Fitforlife and Fittolearn - all under the Commissioner of Police RISEUP strategy. They involve boxing, archery and basketball, Indigenous cultural awareness, mentoring and skill-building.
PCYC NSW CEO Dominic Teakle said the programs work to empower young people to be positive contributors within their communities.
"They also help to reduce youth crime and anti-social behaviour," he said.
"In order to grow our programs and services, we continue to work with both the Eurobodalla Shire Council and the Bega Valley Shire Council to establish a club building in each area.
"This will maximise the outcomes for our programs, for the young people we work with, and for the community."
The ambrose style event has a shotgun start and involves three players per team and two teams per hole. The tee off time is 9.15am.
There's a live auction for a signed NRL and AFL jerseys and a whale watching cruise.
Entry cost is $30 for members of Narooma and surrounding golf clubs. $40 for non members.
