There are many cases of the Bermagui community banding together and assisting others during the recent bushfire emergency, and one big supporter was the town's country club.

The Bermagui Country Club's contribution to the community started on December 31 at 5.30am when it opened its doors for members and visitors as a safety hub to offer shelter and support.
Club employees helped out for 42 hours straight before shutting down at midnight on January 1, 2020.
Meals prepared and served over December 31 to January 1 exceeded 2500.
The next day the Bermagui NSW Rural Fire Service captain commanded the club as his Incident Management Team's site until January 8.
All local firefighters stayed onsite with family members where the club provided meals for between 60 to 130 people three times a day and made lunch packs for the firefighters, as well as shelter and power to enable the Incident Management Team to brief incoming brigades and put strategies in place to protect the community.
Over the past week, club members have been to areas severely affected by the fires and offered assistance, such as unloading trucks and giving support where needed.
Restaurant vouchers have been handed out to those who may use them.
"The New Year's Eve get together held at the Cobargo Hotel on Sunday evening saw three employees assist, and it was wonderful to see our local license premises work together," the club's general manager Robert Beuzeville said.
"Our thoughts are with the small communities of Cobargo and Quaama, and where possible we will assist to bring some sort of normality back to those areas.
"To all of our wonderful volunteers who have assisted at the club, I cannot thank you enough.
"The Bermagui Country Club's focus was and is to create a sense of calmness and wellbeing for our community."
