Anzac Day services and ceremonies have been cancelled this year due to the pandemic.
"Attending war memorials and cenotaphs to lay wreaths will not be possible," a South Coast Police spokesperson said.
However, here's how you can keep the Anzac spirit alive:
- Watch the NSW Police Force Band perform a short ANZAC Day service on our Facebook page at 5am.
- "Light up the dawn". At 6am on Anzac Day, go to the end of your driveway or stand on your balcony and listen to a brief commemorative service. You can sign the pledge to light up the dawn at rslanzacspirit.com.au
- Bake some Anzac biscuits. Try this recipe: https://bit.ly/2Kp7gTB
- Have the kids complete this Legacy colouring competition: https://bit.ly/34YnFYC
- The NSW Government is also encouraging people to share videos reciting The Ode and post photos on social media using the tag #ANZACspirit
