2.17pm: The Moruya Business Chamber says it has been warned of potential minor flooding in Ford St in the next 12 hours.
In a statement to members at 1.25pm on Sunday, August 9, committee members Tim Dalrymple and Jude Manahan said police had contacted the chamber.
"We have been contacted by local police and asked to notify Moruya businesses that there is a potential for minor flooding for Moruya over the next 12 hours," they said.
"Minor flooding translates to water covering Ford Street road."
Ford St runs between the swimming pool and Riverside Park and includes businesses such as the Blue Heron Cafe, as well as residential homes.
"Last high tide was 12.30pm (1 hour ago), next high tide will be Monday 1am approximately.
"The chamber will be contacted by SES if the minor flood warning increases to a moderate flood warning.
"Stay alert, stay in touch, keep checking your emails."
Moruya SES acting unit commander Lloyd Jones said on Sunday afternoon crews were doorknocking in the area but hoped the flood peak had passed by 2pm.
The SES warns: "Never walk, ride or drive in flood water."
