The children put their bibs on to play and train with recently retired rugby 7s player Jesse Parahi, who founded the Sense Rugby program with partner Carlien Parahi.
The program works with children who usually find it difficult to be part of a sports team and are living with conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Occupational Therapist Jessica Hannan, who is based at Moruya and works with the children, said the rugby drills were modified to assist in the process of sensory information, focus on an activity for 30 minutes, work on motor coordination, manage emotions and apply social skills techniques.
The team was invited to play at the Hanging Rock Oval and be part of the Batemans Bay Boars Indigenous Gala Day.
"It is the first time for all of them they have been able to participate in a sporting day," Ms Hannan said.
"One of our parents broke down in tears ... as they have only ever dreamt of their children being part of a sporting team."
She said the 10 kids were nervous, but ended up having a great day.
Ms Hannan said the program catered for all kids who live with disabilities, including those who were non-verbal.
Mr Parahi, of Bulli, said the Saturday group played really well: "There were some good tries and the kids were for the most part in good spirits."
Following the workshop, the kids jumped on the field to clap on the Batemans Bay Boars, who defeated Braidwood Redbacks 41-14.
