The Eden Whale Festival Committee officially announced that the 2020 festival would not go ahead several weeks ago.
"It was an extremely tough decision and we know many people will be disappointed, however due to the COVID-19 pandemic the committee identified community health and safety as a top priority," a spokesperson said.
"We thank everyone for their understanding and support and we look forward to welcoming you to an outstanding 2021 festival, which we are already planning."
The Eden Whale Festival is an annual event, highlighting the southern migration of the humpback and other whales. If you want to get up close and personal with these magnificent animals, there is no better place in Australia than the NSW south coast.
For one weekend a year, Eden showcases all things whale. This year's festival may have been cancelled, but somebody forgot to tell the whales and whale watching is still a highlight.
