Funding available for cultural and youth projects in Shire

Applications are now open for two shire funding programs; one for projects celebrating Aboriginal culture and the other supporting initiatives for local youth.

Merrimans Local Aboriginal Land Council used Eurobodalla Councils 2020 NAIDOC Week grant to put towards a Wallaga Lake community mural, which was a joint project with Bega Valley Shire Council, Mumbulla Foundation and Youth Opportunities Red Cross.

Eurobodalla Council's NAIDOC Week grants provide funding for projects that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements. This year's NAIDOC Week theme is 'Heal Country'.

Recipient projects last year included school cultural days, a mural at Wallaga Lake, bush tucker and craft programs and a Clyde River and Batemans Bay Historical Society display.

Council's Youth Development Grants provide funds for projects that benefit local youth, such as social, educational, employment or cultural opportunities, skills development, leadership or resilience and mental health training.
