A new oyster van that will showcase the South Coast's world class oysters was officially launched at small ribbon cutting ceremony just prior to the opening of the 2021 Narooma Oyster Festival. The oyster van is thanks to a grant from the Business Council of Australia bushfire recovery charity BizRebuild.

The new $61,000 van will be used to promote Narooma rock oysters and the South Coast at fine food festivals around Australia. Business Council chief executive Jennifer Westacott and Narooma Oyster Festival chair Cath Peachey officially launched the van with Ms Peachey saying it was all part of a much bigger aspiration. Ms Westacott said that she loved it when she dined out and the waiter said with so much pride, these oysters are from Narooma, Pambula or Merimbula.
"There is nothing better in the whole world than a Sydney Rock Oyster from the South Coast and there is probably not many people working harder than an oyster farmer."
"We got this van to promote this area around the state, its wonderful to be here to see it launched and it looks great," she said.
