The Chilean soccer federation issued a statement on Sunday saying it "recognises the violation of the health bubble of the squad participating at Copa America, with the unauthorised entry of a barber who, despite his negative PCR test, should not have made contact with the players."

The Chilean federation did not give the number or names of players involved, but said they will be fined.

"We regret what brought us to this situation and we inform that all members of the squad tested negative for the virus on Saturday," the federation said.

Chile coach Martin Lasarte told a news conference his players made "a serious mistake."

"It was an error, a temerity, but that is over now," Lasarte said, adding all players remain eligible for Chile's next match against Uruguay. He did not say when the barber visited Chile's team hotel.

Chile and Argentina share the lead in Group A with four points after two matches.

On the pitch on Sunday, Yerry Mina's second-half own goal saw Colombia crash to a 2-1 defeat by Peru.

Peru took the lead on 17 minutes through Sergio Pena but Colombia equalised eight minutes into the second half when Miguel Borja scored from the penalty spot after he had been brought down by goalkeeper Pedro Gallese.

Peru got the winner 11 minutes later when Everton defender Mina was unlucky to see a cross ball bounce up on to his chest and past his own keeper.

The result lifts Peru into third place in the five-team Group B with three points from two games, one point behind Colombia who have played a game more.

Leaders Brazil have a maximum six points, while Venezuela, who drew 2-2 with Ecuador earlier in the day thanks to an added-time international debut goal by Ronald Hernandez, have two points from three games. Ecuador have one point from two games.
