As COVID-19 forces the curtailment of local public events, past and present Montague Art & Craft Society (MACS) members are looking back over the 40 years of MACS, established in Narooma in 1981.
MACS member Rosy Williams said, We are unlocking memories from past members who shared the original vision to encourage locals to get together to learn new skills and get creative in both art and crafts.
"MACS is a 'not for profit' society that has relied on self-help groups and the tutoring by talented local artists to increase local interest in art.
"Starting from small beginnings, our member volunteers have put on an annual exhibition every year since 1981 with the exception of 2020," Ms Williams said.
The MACS annual exhibition has grown to be a popular town event each Easter for visitors and also encourages new artists to sell their works.
"Our Annual Exhibition this year would have included a Retrospective Exhibition to pay tribute to the many talented artists who have been MACS members, both past and present over the last 40 years," Ms Williams said.
MACS would like to hear from past members who would share their memories of their time with MACS along with their own journey in art. Due to COVID-19 lock-downs, all local artists are invited to enter the September on-line exhibitions run by the River of Art.
