Fans of the late Australian entertainer Barry Humphries have the chance to attend his state memorial.

High demand is expected for the limited free tickets available for the service at the Sydney Opera House on December 15 at 11am AEDT.
Family and friends, dignitaries and fans will gather to celebrate Mr Humphries' life and achievements at the event co-hosted by the Australian and NSW governments.
The service will also be televised on the ABC and live streamed online.
Mr Humphries died in Sydney on April 22 aged 89, after being hospitalised due to complications from a hip replacement surgery.
He was best known for his iconic characters including Dame Edna Everage and Sir Les Patterson.

He also wrote and starred in many of his own films including Barry McKenzie Holds His Own, The Adventures of Barry McKenzie and Les Patterson Saves the World.
He was survived by his wife of 30 years Lizzie Spender, his four children and 10 grandchildren.
How to access state memorial tickets
Limited free tickets to the memorial will be available to the general public at 2pm AEDT on November 17, on the Sydney Opera House website.
Tickets are limited to two per person until sold out and an online queuing system will be in place.
