Volunteers from Marine Rescue Narooma and Bermagui have been tasked by NSW Police Marine Area Command to assist with a multi-agency search for a person believed missing off Haywards Beach near Bermagui.

According to NSW Police, about 3.15pm on Tuesday, December 12, emergency services were called to Haywards Beach, near Tilba Road, following reports a boat had washed ashore.
Officers attached to South Coast Police District attended the scene and conducted initial search however, no-one was found.
Detectives commenced an investigation into this incident with assistance from Marine Area Command, PolAir, Marine Rescue NSW and Surf Life Saving NSW.
Marine Rescue NSW Inspector Glenn Sullivan said Marine Rescue NSW vessels Narooma 30 and Bermagui 30 began searching around 3.45pm.
"Both vessels are conducting a parallel line search from Camel Rock down towards Bermagui Harbour," Inspector Sullivan said.
"Crews on board Narooma 30 and Bermagui 30 began searching behind the breakers and are pushing seaward.
"Visibility is good on the water and our crews will continue searching until instructed otherwise by Marine Area Command," Inspector Sullivan said.
It's understood NSW Police was the lead agency in the search, which was also involving the Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter, SES, Narooma VRA, and Surf Life Saving NSW personnel from Bermagui.
Someone walking along the beach that runs from just north of Bermagui Harbour north to Camel Rock, Wallaga Lake, spotted the boat and called it in just after 3pm.
As well as extensive activity on the water conducting a search, there are also efforts being made to secure the boat overnight.
Sergeant Steven Judd of Eden Water Police said they had received a call just after 3pm when someone on the beach had spotted the washed up boat.
"We are just investigating the circumstances of this boat being washed up on the beach. It happened earlier this afternoon," Sergeant Judd said.
"At this stage we have initiated a search with Surf Life Saving and Marine Rescue and inquiries as to who the boat belongs to.
"We have a coordinated search underway."
Nearby residents on the beach said earlier a helicopter had been flying back and forth above the beach. They said there had also been two boats conducting searches as well as the SLSC which had an IRB and jetski on the water.
