The accident occurred just after 10am with police and Ambulance paramedics responding to the scene and assisted the 49-year-old man at the side of the tractor.
The accident appeared to happen when chicken-wire style fencing became entangled in an auger mounted on the back of a tractor being used to build a new fence alongside the old fence.
He sustained serious injuries and was driven by ambulance to the Narooma headland where he was airlifted to The Canberra Hospital by the Snowy Hydro SouthCare rescue chopper.
Workcover was going to inspect the accident site.
