Ryan competed again in the junior class which is under 22 years of age and Jeremy competed in the novice class for first time competitors, as well as his open height class.
Ryan was first up, coming on stage after the teenage men. Ryan had only one other person in his class and both men were closely matched. Ryan posed excellently, showing off his strong points, especially his outstanding back and small waist while battling it out on stage to try and take the win. Ryan came second, but the competition really could have gone either way.
Next was Jeremy in the novice class. Jeremy posed well and was without doubt the most well-conditioned competitor in his class. The striations in Jeremy’s oblique muscles, waistline and his shredded hamstrings were extremely impressive. Jeremy was unlucky that he didn’t place, which left some people in the crowd questioning the judging, but that is the nature of bodybuilding and any sport where judging is involved.
Jeremy came back later to compete in his height class in the open men. This was an incredibly tough class, with some big and experienced guys on stage. Despite this Jeremy gave it his all, showing off his strong points including an inspiring performance in the pose down where he went toe to toe with some of the best natural bodybuilders in Australia.
Overall it was a great experience and both men should be proud of their achievements. It takes a lot of dedication to follow a rigid training program and diet for 20 weeks in order to bring the type of physique to stage and they should be commended.
Next Sunday Ryan is heading to Sydney to compete in the INBA NSW Titles at Castle Hill RSL, we wish him luck!
Next year Team NRT will be looking at bring a group up from the Narooma region for a number of competitions around April, May and June, these competitions aren’t just for bodybuilders but also involve female bikini, fitness, figure and physique classes as well as men’s fitness.
