The Great Southern Blues Festival returns to its spiritual home this weekend after a two-year hiatus.
Festival organisers say they have experienced the strongest pre-sales in the event’s 16-year history and they are expecting bumper crowds for the three-day event.
“The return to Narooma has proven to be a success and our patrons have shown it with their feet by the record pre-sales we’ve had to date," festival organisers Neil Mumme said.
"The Great Southern Blues Festival has regained its status as one of the most highly regarded blues festivals in Australia.
“Narooma is ready for our patrons and we are ready for them. The international performers are excited about being a part of the Festival and the Australian acts love this event. It’s back to what we do well and what our patrons love.
“If people are still to finalise their plans for the long weekend and want to come to the Festival, now is the time to do it. The venue has a 'Strictly Limited Capacity' as part of the approval conditions. Pre-purchasing will ensure not having to be turned away at the gate on the Labour Day long weekend especially if you plan to drive a distance to attend the event.”
The line-up of international acts on each day of the Festival includes Chris Cain from the USA launching the overseas stage attack on Friday, October 4.
Four international performances will bring the Blues Festival alive on Saturday, October 5, when Charlie A Court (USA), Watermelon Slim (USA) with Fiona Boyes, The Holmes Brothers (USA) and Popa Chubby & Sari Schor (USA) form part of the line-up.
As the Festival winds up on Sunday October 6, the international acts continue with Chris Cain (USA) performing again as well as Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk (USA).
