The “Yuin Back to Country Celebration” is being planned for Saturday, December 7 at the Tilba Showground with free admission and lunch provided.
The event will be hosted and sponsored by the Biamanga and Gulaga National Parks Boards of Management and National Parks.
Joint management coordinator Ros Field said the boards were hosting this event to celebrate the achievements of the last few years including the completion of the draft Plan of Management for the two parks.
Also being celebrated is the purchase of Bellbrook Farm at Tilba, which has highly significant cultural heritage values for the Yuin people.
The day will focus on caring for country, for Yuin culture, and the community and will include traditional games, arts and crafts workshops, including traditional weaving, and sustainability activities.
“We are targeting registered Aboriginal owners of the parks, but are also inviting the broader Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal community.”
