The film made by Brent Occleshaw of Gooseboy Productions of Wyndham features some of the characters that employ sustainable practices in their homes and on their properties.
Now that the project has wrapped up after its State Government funding ended, it is hoped the film will show others elsewhere what can be achieved.
“This is a film about inspirational people working in their own space of sustainability,” SOT project coordinator Tracey Rich said before the film started.
“Hopefully this is a resource that other people can use in their community.”
Ms Rich recognised the NSW Environment Trust for its funding, while also thanking the Narooma cinema for making the theatre available.
Accomplishments of the project included encouraging the formation of the Narooma community garden, environmental reviews of local homes by SOT officers as well as the formation of an environmental hub in Moruya.
Narooma meanwhile has its own “Ecohub” based at the EcoTel Motel where residents have undertaken a number of sustainability measures including planning their own community garden and being a meeting place and venue for like-minded people wanting to live in a more environmentally friendly manner.
The SOT film meanwhile is available for other public screenings and to find out more check out www.sustainingourtowns.org.au website, where other developments on the sustainability front will continue to be published.
