Speaking of thirst, the rain came just in time for the Dalmeny duck pond, which needs all the help it can get from council.

Get ready for the big Narooma Oyster Festival this weekend. Organisers are constantly adjusting it based on previous years and so it will be interesting to see how it all looks and works this year.
And never fear, there will be oysters, regardless of whether they come from Narooma or not.
While the oysters are no doubt in their prime earlier in the summer, the festival was built to attract tourists to town at this particular time of year and I reckon oysters from our clean, pristine waters taste great year-round!
As usual there is lots on this weekend where else would you turn to find the heartbeat of the community other than the Narooma News!
See you online, on Facebook and in our pages sometime!
