Seven schools participated in the event this year; Batemans Bay High School, Moruya High School, Batemans Bay Public School, Central Tilba Public School, Narooma Public School, Broulee Public School and Moruya Public School.
The theme of the Challenge was 'Shelter'.
Initially students were asked to dress appropriately for the event.
The Central Tilba students chose outfits that 'sheltered' them from the weather; raincoats and umbrellas (the wet), ski gear (the cold) and rash vests (the heat).
There were three activities; a technology activity in which the students examined a photo and answered questions, presenting their report to the other groups as a slide show.
The second task was a design and make activity, where the students had to create a shelter which would withstand the effects of a 'simulated' earthquake.
The final activity was the creation of a performance based on survival after a natural disaster.
All the students entered into the activities with enthusiasm, cooperation and a desire to create worthwhile solutions.
Central Tilba Public School placed third overall behind Batemans Bay High School and Batemans Bay Public School which was an outstanding achievement considering the numbers of students at each school.
Central Tilba also received the Small Schools Academic Challenge for their efforts.
Congratulations to Ruby F, Digger, Jade, Libby-Lee, Paige and Ruby C for being such excellent representatives and achievers.
