Little Athletics stars return with medals

YOUNG athletes Connor Griffiths and Lilly Bennett are home after their three-week trip to Canada and the United States.

The kids are extremely happy with their results, which included a couple of gold medals and first places, and found the whole experience amazing and most beneficial.

After two weeks of training and competition, they flew to America for some well-deserved fun.

They went to Disneyland, San Diego Zoo and their favourite of the trip Universal Studios.

They had the time of their lives and met a lot of beautiful life-long friends.

The kids and their parents thanked Narooma for all for the love and support, which included fundraising to help get them there.

“You made the two kids realise that anything is possible and they now have a real hunger for their future,” Connor’s mum Tanya said.

“They have made us all very proud.”

A couple of days before they left for Canada, Lilly and Connor along with 42 Narooma kids went to compete at district for their school where both Connor and Lilly were Age Champions.

They will now compete at the Regionals at the end of the month in Canberra with around 24 other Narooma kids that made it to that level. Mum says such an amazing result and a credit to Narooma High School.

“Good luck to all those kids. We have so many talented kids in Narooma and I for one can’t wait to see a lot of future champions in this town.”

Little Athletics will be starting up again soon, and the new committee is pumped and ready to go.

“Lots of fresh idea we are very excited about the new season. Full details will be out soon through the schools and Narooma News.”
