The boards were delivered this week by Red Cross worker Tom Noonan and PCYC youth officer Greg Curry. The kids all had a great time.
The organisation that donated the skateboards is called “Recycled Fun”, an organisation that basically manages a network of collection bins throughout skate, surf and clothing stores situated nationally in Australia and the USA.
The collection bins are there for the collection of used skate gear such as full skateboards, skate pads, helmets and skate shoes, blades and scooters.
The pre-loved equipment is then shipped and distributed throughout developing countries including Ethiopia and to communities within Australia of locational disadvantage.
Officer Greg Curry said the PCYC would be using them regularly now with schools for programs and activites up and down the coast and would like to thank the generous support from Tom Noonan, the Red Cross and the organisation "Recycled Fun".
