It's a great way to end the season with all teams playing two games each with the opportunity to go through and play in the finals.
Our mighty U7s made it through to the grand final, only just losing 20-16. Full match report below…
On Saturday, August 9 the Narooma Devils U7 team travelled to Bega to play in the end of season carnival against all the other teams in the Group 16 area.
Narooma entered their two teams with nearly all their members making the journey.
Narooma White played against Pambula/Merimbula White and Eden with the Narooma Red team playing Bombala and Moruya.
Both teams won both of their games with Narooma Red finishing first and Narooma White finishing third overall.
Under 7s
In the semi-finals Narooma Red played the Carnival favourites, the local Bega Blue team and won a tight match with Bega scoring and converting right on the siren for Narooma to win 26-24.
In the Grand Final Narooma played the Pambula/Merimbula Blue team in the boys hardest and most exciting game of the year. Narooma threw everything they had at the Pambula/Merimbula Blue team and were in the middle of another attacking raid on the try line when the full time siren sounded with Pambula/Merimbula team winning 20-16. The boys were exhausted after their long day.
They gave it their all and left nothing out on the field. Their efforts and the high standard of the game entertained the crowd in a sea-sawing, nail biting game. The coaching staff and all the parents are so proud of the boys.
The day contained may highlights in a successful carnival.
As coach I would like to thank the boys for their outstanding efforts and the support of the parents throughout the year. A big thank-you to the manager Jacinta and trainers Mark and Rhi. Thanks Stampy
