“I am so proud of Marine Rescue and how they protect our community.
"I was so pleased to be at the Narooma Marine Rescue Base to formally announce $5000 for the construction of an onsite helipad.
"I wrote to Police and Emergency Services Minister, Stuart Ayres seeking the funds on behalf of the Narooma Marine Rescue Unit and I am extremely pleased that the Minister has allocated the funds to such a fantastic cause.
The onsite helipad will aide emergency service operations in the area.
"Marine Rescue Units are staffed by incredible volunteers who give of their time to ensure the safety of those in our community.
"The addition of the helipad will now assist emergency aircraft who were previously forced to land on sporting fields or open paddocks. This funding will now allow a safer, more accessible option," Andrew Constance said.
The Marine Rescue unit will now continue the fundraising to build the helipad with the option of involving the tradesmen and volunteers who built the concrete Dalmeny to Narooma cycleway,
