POLICE were called to the Princes Highway just north of the Narooma Bridge at 4pm Friday when a semi-trailer truck came to a stop when the universal joint connecting the trailer broke.
Traffic was down to one lane for 1.5 hours while the truck was cleared from the northbound lane.
Then at 6pm, a camper van also broke down with engine failure in the same spot again blocking northbound traffic.
Another motorist stopped to assist in moving the van, which was being driven by non-English speaking visitors from China.
Double theft
A MAN was seen stealing two portable, 1-terabyte hard drives from the Narooma post office on February 2.
Then last Friday, a woman was seen stealing two portable, 1-terabyte hard drives from the post office.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage and investigations continue.
Rural B&E
UNKNOWN persons broke into a rural property on the Princes Highway, Dalmeny between last Wednesday and Friday stealing a large 12-by-12-foot army tent in a hessian sack and an antique anvil, together worth $1300.
The item would have required more than one person to lift.
Cannabis found
POLICE found two resealable bags containing cannabis leaf in a car being driven by a 36-year-old man stopped on Dalmeny Drive, Kianga at 12.25pm last Wednesday.
He was issued a court attendance notice for drug offences.
Barker burn-outs
A 23-year-old man was issued a court attendance notice for traffic matters after allegedly doing a burn-out on Barker Parade, Narooma at 4.30am Saturday.
Mobile fine
A 35-year-old local woman was last week fined at Narooma for using a mobile phone while driving.
Helmet warning
POLICE on Sunday issued warnings to 14 and 15 year old for not wearing helmets while riding bicycles around Dalmeny.
Glasses found
A PAIR of prescription glasses, brown with metal frames, was found at the Mystery Bay boat ramp at 2pm last Tuesday.
