The “Charity Day” held on Wednesday, February 18 was in aid of the Narooma RFS and the Dalmeny-Kianga RFS brigades.
Lady president Lorraine McCarthy said it was a huge success, the many participants, some of whom were non-golfers, had a fun day which was evidenced by the laughter and happy faces around the course and in the clubhouse.
The winning team of the 4 Person Ambrose was Carr/Jake/Ken/Lockie with a score of 53¼.
The day was a financial success raising in excess of $4500 due to the extreme generosity of the many businesses who gave so willingly for the auction and raffles which were held on the day, she said.
As well as these businesses, many very generous individuals also donated for the auction and raffles.
“The time and effort supplied by our management, staff and our lady members and the support of the golfers participating in the event all contributed to the success of the day,” Lorraine said.
“A huge thank-you to all of the above and to anyone who contributed in any way to the success of the day.”
The cheques were presented on Thursday by Lorraine to Narooma RFS Captain Adrian Cooper and Dalmeny-Kianga RFS Captain Greg Hill.
The RFS captains said the funds would help with purchase of safety equipment, particularly for highway accident response, and would be very helpful with general maintenance around the fire stations.
They in turn presented the lady golfers with a framed certificate of appreciation.
