He is hoping for continued strong ticket sales over the next few months leading up to the festival, but is stoked with the continued loyal following, especially since moving the event back to Narooma.
Last week he was taking bookings from blues fans in the Hunter Valley even as their neighbourhood went underwater, perhaps he muses they were stuck at home getting on their mojo.
Neil has been travelling extensively to the United States and this year’s festival will have a distinct Southern flavour with acts such as New Orleans band Royal Southern Brotherhood.
He is also looking at instituting more seating arrangements to cater for the fest’s greying clientele, while selecting the local acts given the musical talent for the limited number of spots on the playbill was always a challenge.
The first early bird offerings expired last week, but stay tuned to the Narooma Blues website for news and other possible offers.
Other acts announced include fellow New Orleans act George Porter & the Runnin' Pardners from the USA, The Dynamic Hepnotics for a one and only reunion show and of course old favourites The Backsliders.
Acts to look out for this year include:
Chris Cain - USA
West Coast guitar slinger Chris Cain returns as one of the most requested international artists ever to grace our stages. An exponent of classic Chicago Blues Cain returns for his 5th visit to Narooma over 18 years of this festival. If you have not seen him, chalk him down as a must see.
Blue Shaddy
Western Australian based Blue Shaddy have become a permanent fixture at all major festivals across Australia and here at Narooma that is certainly the case. Delivering another knockout performance in 2014, giving Blue Shaddy a start for this year was seen as a given.
Pete Cornelius and his Band
Ever since his debut at Narooma way back in the late 1990’s Pete Cornelius remains a festival favorite. No artist has played Narooma more thanPete Cornelius. His history at Narooma has been a virtual tour of the blues which has seen him transcend most styles whilst not compromising his own creativity.
The Detonators
Another of our favorites… The Dets missed last year as they broke down 4 hrs south of Narooma. Well this year the same old van has been serviced and the boys assure us that they will be here rocking our stage again in 2015. Blues collides with Rockabilly.
