A SPANIEL dog died after ingesting poison bait thrown over the fence at its home on Narira Street, Bermagui between 7pm last Monday and 7pm the next day.
A veterinarian who treated the dog said the poison involved was sufficient to have killed a large dog.

Forensic arrest
POLICE on Friday after ongoing investigation, including the results of forensic evidence, arrested a local man in relation to break and enters in Kianga and Dalmeny.
He was charged with two counts of break and enter and will appear in Narooma Local Court.
Park accident
A 27-year-old Narooma man failed to negotiate the left hand turn on Ballingalla Street 9am last Wednesday.
His Holden Commodore crossed over the road and hit trees and a fence at the holiday park. He was taken to Moruya Hospital with an injured hand and ongoing investigations indicate speed may have been a factor.
Lost consciousness
A 63-year-old female appears to have lost consciousness from a medical condition while driving on the Princes Highway near Quaama at 1.30pm last Wednesday.
Her car hit an embankment and she was taken to hospital.
Tools stolen
POLICE are advising residents to secure valuables in vehicles after the theft of items including tools from an unlocked toolbox on the back of a utility parked on the Princes Highway, south Narooma between 6.30pm and 7.30pm last Wednesday.

Cow havoc
A HERD of around 20 Fresian cows caused traffic havoc at Coolagolite on the Bermagui Cobargo Road between 4.30pm and 6.30pm Tuesday.
Police were able to herd the cows off the road down Rankins Road and remind stock owners to secure fence as they could be liable if animals got loose.
Suspended license
A 26-year-old Bermagui man stopped on the Princes Highway, Narooma Friday night was found to be driving on a suspended Northern Territory license and investigations continue.

A RING found on the beach at South Tilba Road, north of Bermagui on the June long weekend can be claimed at Bermagui if correctly identified.
A mobile phone found at the Bermagui Woolworths on Monday can also be claimed.
