A LOCAL man allegedly attempted to exchange counterfeit $50 notes at two Narooma banks last Monday.
The man told bank staff he had received the notes out of the ATM and that they were fake and that he wanted them replaced with real $50 notes.
Police were alerted and later arrested a 42-year-old Narooma man who was charged with fraud. Investigations continue.
Coughing accident
A LOCAL woman was driving on the Bermagui Tathra Road with her two children at 3.30pm Monday when she lost control and crashed off the road into shrubs and trees.
She told police she lost control after having a coughing fit and while there were no injuries, her Subaru station wagon was towed from the scene.
Low ranger
A 61-year-old Cobargo man was charged with low-range drink driving after being stopped at Quaama at 5pm last Wednesday.
