The race is 12km long and without any crew changes is a real test of stamina for the rowers.
The Narooma rowers finished in a time of 1 hour and 8 minutes, coming in second out of seven veteran crews. North Cronulla came first in the division. Narooma finished 11th overall out of 37 boats competing in all age groups.
“It was really close racing with Tathra and Bulli pushing the boys all the way to the finish line,” sweep Brendan Constable said.
Along with Constable up the back, the rowers were Andrew McCaughtrie, Rod Patmore, Jon Carruthers and Jono Hull.
This second place at the Rooster Run came just a couple of weeks after the Narooma crew won the annual Pambula Club to Pub race.
The boys are now training for the upcoming George Bass Surfboat Marathon that will see clubs row from Batemans Bay to Eden compete over the first week of January.
Narooma finished undefeated in its division in the last George Bass marathon.
