Held in Central Tilba on the October long weekend, it show cased knife makers from the local region, ACT, NSW and Victoria.
Organisers Iain and Sarah Hamilton from Mother Mountain Forge at Dignams Creek said the show drew crowds of locals and interstate visitors, as well as avid collectors who travelled to the region specifically to attend the show.
“On display and for sale were knives of all types from kitchen to hunting, axes, straight razors, as well as blacksmithed items,” Mrs Hamilton said.
“There was also a custom engraver displaying her beautiful work and knife making supplies and tools on offer.”
South Coast Hunters Club president Dan Field judged the best hunting knife with the award going to Adam Fromholtz of Fromholtz Knives from Canberra.
Chef Huw Jones, of two-hatted restaurant Zanzibar in Merimbula, gave the best kitchen knife award to Christian Mathieson of Mathieson Knives from Victoria.
Photos and knife makers’ profiles can be found on South Coast Knife Show’s Facebook page. The event will be on again next year.
