A strong contingent of students fiercely contested the Narooma High School swimming carnival at Narooma Sport and Leisure Centre on February 4.

Students vied for positions on the zone carnival team and large numbers also enjoyed novelty events.
The day proved enjoyable for all involved and Narooma High School praised the pool’s pool staff, high school staff, house captains and timekeepers, who worked extremely hard on the day to make the carnival a success.
Many students qualified for the zone carnival, to be held on Wednesday, February 17 at Narooma.
Students from Batemans Bay, Eden, Cooma, Braidwood and schools in between will race for selection to the regional carnival at Dapto on Wednesday, March 9.
Narooma High School wished its swimmers the best of luck at zone and praised Carol Mead and student timekeepers, who will volunteer their time to officiate at the carnival.
The following students were named age champions in their respective age groups following Narooma High School’s swimming carnival.
12 yrs girl - Elli Beecham 12 yrs boy - Christopher Hayward.
13 yrs girl - Angelita Hochkins, 13 yrs boy - Banjo King.
14 yrs girl - Katelyn Czubara , 14 yrs boys - Rory Spurgeon.
15 yrs girl - Cecilia Colom-Davis, 15 yrs boys - Jackson Taylor.
16 yrs girls - Georgia Poyner, 16 yrs boys - Oscar Zideluns.
17 yrs girl - Ashley Walpole, 17 yrs boys - Ryan Sweeney.
