How good was Sunday morning? Crystal clear skies and a water temperature of 20C had the two Blue Pointers, two Blue Bottles and five Blue Balls all reaching for 30 SPF lotion during a blissful swim in Blue Pool.
Our new thermometer floating atop the water was christened 'Bob' by Blue Bottle Harrison. Perfect! The real delight however was the return of our founder, mentor and inspiration, Gary Pearse. The review of the financial records of the BBB by the Confederation Regulating Aquatic Pastimes (CRAP) declared no breaches or irregularities were found.
The audit was diligently conducted by Jobson Grothe who was ably assisted by Ava Plan. They both have been receiving considerable media coverage of recent times but we have insisted they swim with the BBB any time they have a free Sunday. However the sad news was that it would be Gary's last swim with the BBB until late June.
He had anticipated his suspension would last considerably longer and so organised a trip to visit friends in Botswana. The good news is he plans to send us photos of him swimming off Capetown and also floating down the Zambezi River in a barrel (blue of course) and going over Victoria Falls. We look forward to him appearing in the “Have News Will Travel” section of the Narooma News.
Just to prove Christmas sometimes does come early the authentic Pointer Sisters are in concert, performing in Canberra on May 31. So if you hear reports of blue budgie smugglers being lobbed onto the stage mid performance, you'll know who made the trek to Canberra to be in the audience!
Now remember, we want 'A Slow Dance'. Owing to a number of circumstances the proposed swim at an inland water hole was delayed by a week. So the opportunity to have your toes nibbled by a yabbie is still available. Simply bring your togs, good cheer and sense of humour to Blue Pool at 9am next Sunday.
