The morning was filled with children’s activities including dancing with a local DJ, face painting, bubbles, an obstacle course, nature walks, Indigenous games, storytime and more. There was also a range of information stalls that fit under this year’s Children’s Week theme; children have the right to information that is important to their health and wellbeing.
It is the third year Council’s children’s services team hosted the event.
Council’s coordinator Children and Family Services Louise Hatton said about 110 children attended along with their families or child care service.
“The Children’s Week fun Day was a big success,” she said. “The activity is proving to be a popular event and families farewelled us with a ‘see you again next year’. We also had a couple of holidaying families who visited the Botanic Gardens and were able to join in the activities.”
Ms Hatton praised Adele Morrison for face painting non-stop for two hours, DJ Matt Brown for the music, community health, Gadhu kids, Campbell Page, Moruya Dental and council staff for providing activities.
