VRA training officer Mal Barry said this was the first joint training with the Narooma RFS brigade. The squad now planned more training with the Narooma Fire and Rescue NSW brigade and Moruya SES volunteers.
The Narooma VRA rescue squad was also involved in a great joint team effort by Ambulance paramedics and police when a bushwalker was rescued from Gulaga Mountain on October 22.
“Thank you to the local park rangers for offering their assistance and also lending a hand. Patient carried out via our very handy back pack stretcher after slipping and fracturing her leg, a couple of kilometers up the path on the return of a bushwalk down Mt Dromedary.”
The Narooma VRA rescue squad needs new members of all abilities. Enquiries to Mal on 0428 525 493. The squad meets Wednesdays 6pm to 8pm at VRA headquarters behind Marine Rescue.
