Meg first met Bill when he was director of the Canberra School of Music and conducting the Llewellyn Choir which he founded.
She was delighted to find him directing the Montague Choristers when she moved to Narooma in 2008. This will the third recital they have prepared together but the first with the lovely organ at All Saints.
The program for this Twilight Recital includes many beautiful sacred songs - ranging from Bach arias to Gabriel Fauré’s “Pie Jesu”.
There will be favourites from Handel’s Messiah, including the Pastoral Symphony on the organ, together with less well known songs such as an Ave Maria by Dvořák and an aria from Arthur Sullivan’s Oratorio “The Prodigal Son”. Bill will play Handel’s Organ Concerto No 2 in B Flat Major. Meg will also be joined by her daughter and daughter in law to sing Mendelssohn’s “Lift Thine Eyes” from Elijah.
Meg and Bill have really enjoyed choosing some very special music for this recital. There will be a retiring donation to help with expenses. Admission free.
