The council’s temporary barriers are still up on the breakwaters keeping people away from damaged sections of the rock wall.
A spokesperson for the council said they understood the Department of Lands, which has responsibility for the breakwaters and also the town wharves, was about to put the work out for tender.
“They have had a consultant preparing designs and we believe they will be going to tender shortly for the works needed to repair the damage,” the spokesperson said.
The department had already conducted major repairs at the Narooma main wharf after it too was damaged in the big storm of June 2016.
