A successful technical training night was at the Narooma Camera Club’s new venue at Club Narooma on February 1, when 20 club members learned about the theory and practice of producing silhouette photographs.

Club members met again on February 15 for the second meeting of 2017.
They were pleased to welcome Alison Aitken as a new member and Nereley Hunt as a visitor. They were also pleased to welcome a visitor from the Frankston Club near Melbourne.
On the third Wednesday of each month the club holds its monthly competition, which comprises a set subject and an open category. The set subject for this month was Christmas and there were a number of creative interpretations of that theme.
The judge for the evening was Heath Barkley, who critiqued each member’s photographs. Thanks go to Heath for his comprehensive, constructive points on composition, colour and lighting etc.

Following the competition, Peter Seath, the club’s technology expert, gave an excellent presentation of the club’s new website which he has developed together with a Facebook page.

The next club meeting will be on Wednesday, March 1. It will be a technical training evening aimed at beginners and less experienced members to teach them how to use the various controls on their cameras.
The club will be holding its annual exhibition of members’ photographs in the Montague Room at Club Narooma over the Easter weekend. Publicity material with further details will be distributed in the near future.
