Parents looking to overcome the dilemmas facing their family in the digital age are invited to attend two free practical workshops in the Eurobodalla in April.
Technology expert Dr Kristy Goodwin will share her insights in Batemans Bay and Narooma next week.
According to a Eurobodalla Shire Council spokeswoman, Dr Goodwin has more than 14 years of experience in teaching and research and helps parents find the best ways to use technology to support, not stifle, their child’s learning.
“She delivers evidence-based information about the impact of digital technologies on young children’s learning, health, wellbeing and development,” the spokeswoman said.
“She is a leading technology and development expert and mum, who helps parents and educators understand what pre-schoolers really need to be 'ready' for entering kindergarten.
“Dr Kristy will provide a practical workshop about the digital dilemmas parents face at home and gives real solutions for families.
“This creates a guilt-free happy balance with you and your child in the digital world.
“Dr Kristy will identify seven essential building blocks for optimal learning and development in a digital age.
“She will answer questions such as 'are my kids being overexposed to digital technology too young?',” the spokeswoman said.
