Round 10 had Devil Minis up early to take on Bega in Bega with an 8.30 start time. Bega can never be taken lightly and the contests in every division did not disappoint.

Nigel’s U7 Whites were evenly matched in defence and attack with Daniel Rotumah a stand out, while Chloe Naylor gained Eddies ‘Milo Award’ in U7 Reds. A strong final quarter had Reds slightly in front.

Rob’s U8’s gave their best and held their own in another even encounter with Tommy McDonald strong in attack and defence containing their Bega opposition.

Johnny Constable’s game for Nigel’s U9’s was extremely strong with solid ‘hit ups’ in a side that always provides entertaining footy for all of their supporters.

U10’s were excited to take on Bega in a long anticipated game knowing from the outset Bega would provide a tough encounter. It proved to be exactly that with Devils running out victors 22-12. Great team spirit is evident in this side with Hunter Dibden’s 28 tackles giving him Player of the Day for Andrew.

Devils were again too strong in U12’s with Ross’s boys gaining the upper hand to post a 28-22 win over Bega. Bryce Hastie the stand out for this side.

Another unstoppable performance was delivered by Kate’s Mod Girls. Week in, week out this side demolishes their opposition and this again was the case with Devils delivering a 56-6 win over Bega. Sisters, Halle and Rogue Constable could not be separated by coaching staff, both being awarded the Player of the Round, well done girls.

With Craig absent, Steve and Cameron took over management of U14’s in what was to be a decisive 24-10 win by Devils with both teams being strong finals contenders. It was hard to decide the stand out for this team with Oscar Carr given the nod over Kaleb Brooks. Both boys provided great ball delivery on the day.

International Girls was a nail biter with another even game but Scott’s girls finally proved too strong ending up winners 14-12. This was a great game where Zoe Holdsworth was given Player of the Day.

The day concluded with a grinding encounter between the U16’s. Both sides came out of the sheds fired up and determined to dominate.

Half time saw Bega slightly ahead, but despite Devils best efforts, including one spectacular try coming from a clever chip and chase in the second half, Bega were too strong on the day running out winners 28-18. A courageous game by Liam Sweeney saw him awarded Player of the Round.

Round 11 will see Devils take on Bombala at home on Bill Smyth Oval. So for some great footy, all are welcome to support our talented young players.
