SENIORS MATCH REPORT
Narooma Lions first grade have moved a step closer to their premiership dream with a 114-point win over Merimbula Diggers at Berrambool Oval, Merimbula. A blistering 12-goal second half inspired the Lions to a 19-21-135 to 3-3-21 victory. Narooma had winners all over the ground. Full forward Simon Mackie kicked 10 goals taking his tally to a whopping 95 goals for the year. Luke Talty 4 goals and Rowan Hawkey 3 goals were also dangerous up forward.
The Narooma midfield led by Jordan Lang in the ruck were a class above their opponents and were dominating clearances. Tom Clarke and Jeremy Sly provided pace and skill providing clean entries into the forward line.
Narooma’s backline led by Colin Fosternally held the Diggers to 3 goals for the game. Mick Sadler and Brad Haliman regularly turned defence into attack with aggressive running off the halfback line.
Coach Mick Clothier was happy with the overall performance of the Lions as they head into the 2nd Semi-Final vs Pambula on Saturday, September 2 at Bill Smyth Oval @ 2:30pm.
