It is such a beautiful bush setting it would have been hard not to have enjoyed it.
Smoke from the fire pit drifted upwards through the trees making the whole scene look terrific while the billy tea and damper and succulent sausage sizzle kept everyone fed.
All those involved in presenting the demonstrations, the food and the tours have said it was a really great day.
A very big thank you goes to all who assisted the Montreal Committee on the day.
The effort in getting set up and running is really appreciated. This includes the spinners, the Bermagui Men’s Shed, the Montreal Pit Singers with Murray Douch adding to the atmosphere with rousing mining songs, Poet's corner, Historical Society, gold panning, those on the gate, the trading table and helping with the food.
The Montreal Committee thanks you.
