A TERRIFYING shark of huge proportions showed up at Narooma Surf Beach this morning.

Only thing is, this shark is made of stone and appeared suddenly and as it did mysteriously with some clever creative person making the piece of ephemeral art out of a naturally occurring stone.
The shark was discovered by local resident and beach walker Peter Bernard, who was so impressed he was keen to point it out to the world.
"I first noticed it this morning and so the shark must be a fresh creation," Peter said.
The naturally occurring shark-shaped rock was augmented by the mysterious artist with a black pebble eye bashed into rock, looking exactly like the menacing and bottomless black eye of a real great white shark.
Then there were some life size white shark teeth, really white pebbles, added into the mouth to finish off the creation.
Luckily this terrifying shark is tucked away at the far north end of the beach, otherwise the Narooma surf life savers might have been tempted to sound the alarm when patrols start next month.
The Narooma area is known for its ephemeral art with rock towers and pebble creations showing up on various beaches every now and then….
