His business Tony Berry & Associates and its trademark pink colours will retire with him as will his wife Gail who has been office manager since the mid-1980s.
The good news is that Rob Hamilton who owns a string of LJ Hooker real estate offices up and down the coast including at Dalmeny is taking over the business.
Ironically, John Green’s first business in Narooma was the LJ Hooker office he opened opposite the police station in 1980.
John has been advertising on the front page of the Narooma News ever since the paper started back in 1986.
He then moved to the current Midtown location in the mid-1980s before he was joined by his then business partner Tony Berry and hence the name change. His wife Gail joined the business in 1987 as the office manager.
John and Gail will stay in Narooma enjoying life even more on their property 20 minutes north of town.
“I’ve had a fantastic time,” John said. “It’s been an absolute privilege to live and work in this environment.”
“I want to thank all our past and present clients and the community for the tremendous support they have shown us over the years.”
Taking over the business is Rob Hamilton from LJ Hooker in Moruya, Tuross, Bodalla, Broulee, Dalmeny and now Narooma.
The Dalmeny office manager Penny Cope will now take on managing the Narooma office too, while Jenny Foster who worked for the Greens will stay on as property manager.
A new face will be Deanna Cramb, who is moving to Narooma with her family to be the sales person at the new LJ Hooker Narooma office.
Jess Dale will remain the sales person at the Dalmeny office.
Rob said that property management and sales would transfer and continue as normal, meaning a smooth transition for the clients.
“It will be good for the town and we are employing local people with Deanna stepping in and bringing her family to town,” Robs said.
